Ettelbruck Squash Open

Hi,

This weekend both Keith and myself participated in the above tournament (C/D category). There were a few familiar faces and one or two unfamiliar ones. For the second time in a row (there was also an Ettelbruck tournament in Januray), Keith won the category! This time he had to fight pretty hard (in January he beat me easily 3-0 !) vs a battling Renaud from Arlon, but he came through 3-2. Excellent game to watch…so well done Keith. Next time he has to play with the B’s!! Just for info, I came in 4th…not bad for and old bugger like me!!

Hopefully you all had a good Easter break and are now ready for the final playoff matches, and cup game(s) for ANG1. Keith has sent out the proposed teams by email so please let him know quickly if there are any problems.

There is no “official” training tomorrow night but it might be a good idea to go and hit a few balls if you have time. Personally, I’ve had enough squash until Wednesday!!

End of season dinner

Hi,

As we are approaching the end of the 2003/2004 season its maybe a good idea to think about an end of season dinner. The final playoff games are on Wednesday 21 April and there are still Cup matches to play on April 23, 28 and 30th. It will likely be impossible to find a date that suits everyone but I would suggest a Wednesday (our usual squash night..so less problems “domestically”!)…either April 28th (unless we still have a team in the Cup) or May 5th. As for the location….open to ideas. I recently had lunch at the Brasserie Bierhaascht in Bascharage ( http://www.bierhaascht.lu) which was pretty good. But I know some of you like your garlic shrimps as well !!
Anyway, it would be good to have some initial feedback about your availability (Keith and my favourite subject!!)…so please let me know what you think….

cheers,

a mixed bag, with ANG1 losing (but some very tight matches) and ANG2 winning (again with a few close fought games). Only ANG1 will play this week (28th Jan) and they are up against Sandweiler. So for all those not playing, it is another good opportunity to get a lesson with Nathan before we reach our deadline.
