As you all surely know, Wayne and his family will be leaving Luxembourg soon to start a new life “down under” in Australia. So yesterday he played his final match for the Angels. Unfortunately he didn’t go out with a win but, knowing Wayne, surely with a smile and a beer!!
Some of us have had to chance to wish him “bon voyage” personally, either at the Mousel Cantine, at TopSquash or at his recent cheese and wine party (or maybe all 3!). But I would just like to take this opportunity to thank him again, on behalf of the Angels SC, for all the hard work he put in as Treasurer and for his constant support for our training activities/matches etc. Apart from being a pretty mean squash player, he can also whack a golf ball around and I am sure the golfing fraternity of the Angels will relish the idea of playing 18 holes somewhere near Brisbane!
Anyway, here’s wishing Wayne and the family all the best for their new adventure. Stay in touch and we all look forward to the first Angels tour to Australia!!
Good on yer, mate!!
Stavros already presented himself here (not that any of you doesn’t know him already :-))
Anyway, Stavros has been in Luxembourg since 1987 and started working at Hotel Intercontinental in 1988 and then at Cargolux, where he also played for their squash team. At some point he met Stella and they got their two kids Melina and Alexandros. He’s got a van too, but no dog (yet). Among his other skills he’s very much an audiophile.
Marc has joined our club this year. He’s one of the “natives” and has played here for many years most recently for Mondorf Squash Club. He’s is highest ranking Luxembourgish player and he has won numerous national championships. We are happy to have him on bord and look forward to learning a few of the tricks from him !
Jonathan is a long time squash player, but is also into golf and biking (reckless mountain biking!). He is single, works at Bank of Bermuda and has been in Luxembourg for quite some time now. Actually, I haven’t played him in squash, but I reckon his short game in squash is probably as deadly as it is in golf
Many of you already know Keith, who has brought us a couple of new members this year. He’s also one of our captains (Richard being the other). He’s relatively young … , married to Tracy and lives (in exile ) in France. Have any IT-problems, he’s your man. Apart from playing squash he’s trying hard to improve his golf game.
